The Lodge is a delightful, detached stone cottage with its own pretty private garden and private parking. Here you will find a haven of tranquility and comfort, yet close to all that the estate has to offer, giving you the perfect holiday get-away for your family or a quiet haven for you to retreat to. The cottage is part of the Colmer Country Estate which consists of a carefully restored 18th century house and converted farm buildings. The estate has 28 acres of its own beautiful and peaceful private grounds which include full access to woodlands, a private fishing lake and meadows. It is wonderfully situated in the heart of the South Hams - an area of outstanding natural beauty in South Devon. There are many beautiful beaches, Dartmoor and the pretty towns of Dartmouth, Totnes and Salcombe all within easy reach. The superb on-site facilities include an excellent indoor heated swimming pool, a fitness gymnasium containing a good range of equipment, a very attractive good sized outdoor swimming pool (heated mid May to mid September), a newly re-surfaced all weather tennis court, basket ball net, football, table-tennis, boules, and croquet lawn. The grounds contain a private lake where you may go coarse fishing or take a picnic. In the woods there is an adventure play area for older children, and in the huge walled garden there is a wonderful children's climbing frame with swings and slide and a safe haven for little ones to play ball games and run, with a boules pit nearby for the adults. For teenagers there is a games room hideaway with pool table. The riding on Dartmoor is spectacular year round. With so much to do on-site there is little need to go further afield, but should you be able to drag the children away, within half an hours drive there are masses of things to do and places to go, whatever the weather. Within easy walking distance there is an excellent pub serving great food and beer a well stocked shop for provisions. The nearest of many beautiful sandy beaches is 6 miles away at Bigbury Bay leading to the famous Burgh Island. This is a great place to windsurf, kite-surf or body-board, but also very safe to potter around rock-pooling. Alternatively head North and you'll be in the wilds of Dartmoor in 15 Minutes.
